The flywheel itself is made from 6061 T6 tempered aluminum for high strength and light weight. Friction surfaces are 1050 high carbon alloy steel, which will stand up to any clutch material, from organic to Kevlar to sintered iron. The friction surface is anchored with the best aerospace fasteners money can buy, used in abundant quantities, with incredible shear strength and resistance to corrosion. Ring gears are heat tempered and secured with grade 10 fasteners. All machining is done on precision CNC equipment. |
